Seiko Suzuki

Shito Ryu is one of the four main styles of karate and was developed by Kenwa Mabuni Sensei (1889 – 1952) He named his style of karate after his two teachers. Mabuni Sensei student Sakagami Ryusho Sensei (1915 – 1993), continued teaching Shito Ryu in Osaka and Tokyo.

Seiko Suzuki Sensei became a student of Sakagami Sensei in 1954. Seiko Suzuki Sensei formed his own organization called Suzuki-Ha Shito Ryu Nihon Karate –Do Seiko-Kai.

In his 80th year Suzuki Sensei visited New Zealand to ensure that the teaching standards of his instructors are maintained to a high quality and true to the Seiko-Kai brand.

His dedication and commitment to the perfection of Seiko-Kai Shito Ryu Karate is unprecedented and here at TASK our objective is to teach the art and style as intended by the founder.
